What's surprised you?

Working on a telecomms client, I thought I'd be developing software to support something like SKYPE, but actually my role – and the projects within EUT as a whole – is much more diverse.

I expected to be working on a project for a few months, then be onto the next thing. But in reality, when you're a few months in, you're really just getting your teeth into it and to move on would be frustrating. So I've been really happy working on projects longer-term as it's given me the chance to get to know the client and make myself known in Logica.

What are you doing now?

I'm currently working on a website for one of the major mobile network providers that will enable their customers to check their statements and their tariff, make a payment or look at how many text messages they have left for that month. As a Test Analyst it's my job to check that everything on the site is working as it should and that anything not up to scratch gets fed back to our team of developers to work on.

What's next?

I spoke to my Staff Manager about potentially becoming a Business Analyst and now I'm going on a four-day training course on Business Consulting skills to help me get there. The company is also sponsoring me in gaining my Prince2 qualification, which will really help my future career here.

What's fun?

We had a project dinner last week and I met one of the senior managers, which was great because the more people who know you and what you're capable of, the better your prospects of getting onto the projects that you want and progressing your career.

What I enjoy most about working here though is the great atmosphere. It's not the strict clock-watching environment I was expecting. Everyone is much more relaxed and open and I feel really lucky to get on so well with my team.
