Public Sector
eGovernment initiatives are just the beginning. The upcoming challenges for the public sector involve greater transparency and accountability in government; faster, better and cheaper delivery of public services; and hugely improved security.
And all this comes on top of the demand for more services – to businesses and citizens alike – underpinned by more cohesion between public bodies. In short, joined-up thinking at its best.
Our 40-year track record of generating mission-critical IT systems for the public sector puts us in a unique position to help it meet those challenges. We have unrivalled experience in the analysis and design of new business processes and systems; in designing and implementing IT systems that drive change and efficiency; in operating, maintaining and supporting IT services; and in delivering outsourced business systems like payroll, personnel and document management.
Quite simply, our experience has given us an in-depth understanding of public sector needs, the technology to improve operations and how to implement IT solutions that drive business change on time and to budget. As a result, we’ve worked closely with the likes of the Environment Agency, the Crown Prosecution Service, the Department of Trade and Industry, OFSTED and many more besides. One major project with the NHS involved linking the records of some 30,000 GPs and 270 trusts into a single, secure, national system. In time, it’s likely to become one of the largest databases in the world.
