Going greener

We’re all about helping our clients achieve their business goals. But we also have goals of our own. One of them is to cut our energy consumption substantially. And we’re delighted to say that our innovative ‘Stamp down our Carbon Footprint’ campaign has produced results internally and externally. In 2008 we were recognised as one of the UK’s top 20 Best Green Companies in the Sunday Times awards.

Our campaign encouraged staff to do simple things like reduce, reuse and recycle, switch off lights and electrical equipment, and print double-sided as standard. And we introduced conferencing technology to reduce business travel. And that was just for starters.

By making changes to energy management, business travel, waste and recycling we reduced our total carbon emissions by 10% in 2007. That included big cuts in business travel – 30% for air and 10% for road. What’s more, by buying more environmentally-friendly electricity supplies, we’ve saved nearly 16,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions since November 2006. The way we see it though, it’s just the beginning.
